Aston Martin Brings British Racing Green Back Onto the Formula 1 Grid
Returning to the sport for the first time in 60 years.

Formerly known as Racing Point, the newly-rebranded Aston Martin Formula 1 team has unveiled its highly-anticipated contester for the 2021 season, bringing the ultra-iconic British racing green back onto the Formula 1 grid. Aside from the return of this symbolic color, the car — dubbed the AMR21 — is also the first challenger from the automaker in more than 60 years.
Driving the team’s two new cars will be previous Racing Point driver Lance Stroll and four-time world champion Sebastian Vettel, who has made the move over to Aston Martin this season following six seasons at Ferrari. “It’s hugely exciting for everyone in the team,” Aston Martin’s team principal Otmar Szafnauer said of the new signing. “In Sebastian, we have a proven four-time world champion with experience of helping teams become race-winning and championship-contending outfits. That’s why he is such an important signing for us. He brings a winning mentality and we will all undoubtedly learn a lot from him on this journey.”
Formula 1’s 2021 season will commence in Bahrain, with the first Grand Prix scheduled for March 28.
Elsewhere in the sporting world, Blake Griffin has officially signed with the Brooklyn Nets.
