You'll Need the Luck of the Irish to Cop Nike's Air Max 90 "St. Patrick's Day"
Here’s a closer look at the soon-coming and sure-to-sell-out sneaker.
St. Patrick’s Day is just around the corner, and joining in on the festivities is Nike with its latest Air Max 90. While previously seen back in January alongside its matching Air Force 1, Nike now offers us a better look at the “Pine Green” and “Mean Green” pair ahead of its release.
The most unmissable part of the AM90 is its debossed shamrock design that decorates the sidewall that wraps from the toe mudguard to mid-panel and around to the rear-quarter, before forming the lower-section of the heel. Elsewhere, we see the “Pine Green” hue continued onto the toe bumper, the mid-panel, the vamp and on the foam-mesh tongue, while vivid hits of “Mean Green” highlight the eyestay plackets, the lining, the signature Nike Air-branded heel tabs, the Air Max branding on the mid and, finally, the Air unit on the midsole.
Nike uses white to split the design up, covering the toe box in mesh and the Swoosh design in premium leather. The sole unit is also finished in white but is fitted with a “Pine Green” outsole, rounding out the design neatly. As a final nod to the luck of the Irish, metallic gold details have been added to areas such as the Air Max branding on the mid and to the lace tips, as well as on the insole, rounding out the four-leafed look.
The Nike Air Max 90 “St. Patrick’s Day” will release on Nike’s website ahead of the big event on March 12 at 3 p.m. EST, costing $130 USD a pair. Take a closer look at the festive sneaker above, and be sure to secure a pair for the celebrations on March 17.
