AllRightsReserved is teaming up with David Shrigley once again for a special “MEET David Shrigley’s April Fool PROJECT VOL.2” collaboration.
Set to release on April Fool’s Day 2021 — the U.K. artist’s favorite day of the year — the MEET Project collab will be comprised of two silkscreen print series and a sculpture. The sculpture, entitled YOU ARE SPECIAL, and the prints, each titled I’VE GOT YOUR LIPSTICK, FUCK, I AM ELEGANT I AM OH SO VERY VERY ELEGANT and I HATE HUMAN BEINGS, convey positive messages to remind each individual of what makes them unique.
“I like April Fool’s Day because, I guess it’s a day when traditionally I look at the newspaper, or on the Internet, or on TV for April Fool’s jokes that are being played on me, on everybody really,” Shrigley said in a statement. “It’s good if you remember that it’s April the 1st, a lot of times I forget. Sometimes I don’t find out about the jokes until later, in retrospect.”
The sculpture and silkscreen print series will be released in a limited edition of 75 pieces and 125 pieces respectively. Each work will be signed by the artist and accompanied by a numbered certificate of authenticity, with the sculpture arriving in a wooden box. YOU ARE SPECIAL is priced at $850 USD and the prints, which will be sold in pairs, are priced at $2,800 USD. Both works will be available available for purchase on the DDT Store starting April 1.
