In-Hand Look at the Air Jordan 1 Low "Spades"
A king-queen hand in footwear form.

Jordan Brand‘s Air Jordan 1 Low is set to release in a “Spades” makeup later this year, and ahead of its arrival we’ve been given an in-hand look at the playing card-inspired style. Michael Jordan‘s affinity for cards is well known — the Jumpman last acknowledged it in 2018 with the Air Jordan 1 “Best Hand in the Game” collection — so this low-cut Air Jordan 1 acknowledges one of the GOAT’s preferred pastimes in alternate fashion by nodding to a specific suit.
Uppers are divided between striking and subtle pieces. The former is served up by mudguards and quarters, which are dressed in red and take on an intricate lasered paisley print. The latter is supplied by simple white leather eyestays, toeboxes, quarters and heels. Vivid detailing arrives by way of high hand gold “Q” and “K” (short for “queen” and “king”) detailing on each shoe’s lateral forefoot, a special gold and red tongue tag with a Jumpman-covered spades graphic and a metallic gold Swoosh. A red ball-and-wings logo on the heel works with white midsoles and red outsoles to round off the look.
The Air Jordan 1 Low “Spades” has yet to receive an official release date, but will likely arrive sometime this spring or summer. It remains to be seen if Jordan Brand will accompany it with clubs, diamonds and hearts-themed makeups.
