Pharrell and adidas Build Autonomous Robot For NMD Hu "Cream" Unveiling
The four-legged machine delivered the latest colorway to Skateboard P, David Beckham, Pusha T and more.
Pharrell and the Trefoil brand reinvigorated the NMD Hu in 2020 and received a rather positive response from the sneaker crowd, so they will be capitalizing on this momentum in 2021. Up next for the two parties is the adidas NMD Hu “Cream” which has been uniquely unveiled thanks to the autonomous robot that the German sportswear imprint built for product seeding to high-profile brand signees such as Skateboard P himself, Pusha T and David Beckham.
For this update, the multi-hyphenate brings a dichotomy of both light and saturated colors to the table. The knitted upper material that forges the base is covered with a creamy layer, and comes with pleated textures reminiscent of HOMME PLISSÉ Issey Miyake‘s signature trousers. Darker contrasts on the upper makes its presence felt through the laces, and the toe box lettering, the former of which is flecked with reflective accents while the latter is spelled out in the Korean language. On the heels, a fraction of pink subtly pops out on the high-positioned overlay that hosts traditional Pharrell and adidas branding. Furthermore, the model’s signature caging comes dyed with a milky beige complexion which bleeds down into the midsole’s heel block.
Swiveling down to the bottom piece, the Boost cushioning is classically styled in white, and adjoined by a bright blue mold that clings to the forefoot. Underneath this, the gridded treading is dyed to a stark black.
If interested in copping, these will be dropping come February 5th globally through Confirmed and Billionaire Boys Club.
Elsewhere in sneaker news, the adidas Valentine’s Day collection has just launched.
