Lexus Reveals Gamers' IS, the First Vehicle Designed by and for the Twitch Community
Lexus puts gamers in the driving seat as a part of its new 2021 ‘All In’ campaign.
Lexus is officially unveiling the Gamers’ IS. This is the first-ever vehicle designed by and for the Twitch community as the ultimate gaming space. Recently, popular streamer Fuslie held a livestream that garnered over 554,000 unique viewers who watched and weighed in on their favorite features for the latest modification. Lexus is working with SCPS experts to bring the custom, crowdsourced car to life as a completely immersive gaming vehicle.
VP of Marketing at Lexus Vinay Shahani said in a press release, “The Twitch community dives headfirst into their passion of gaming, just as we did in designing the new 2021 Lexus IS as a pure expression of a sports sedan. We asked for their help designing their dream gaming space, and they answered in spades. Together, we created the ultimate fusion of design and performance in automotive and gaming.”
The Gamers’ IS exterior is a modified Lexus IS 350 F Sport, dressed in the Infiltrate design custom vinyl wrap, bringing forward “a technical, interface-driven, HUD-centric design territory reminiscent of first-person gaming, black ops and reconnaissance.”
55 percent voted for the Neon Tokyo-style interior, exuding the electrified Japanese explosive pop-art aesthetic. The ceiling of the vehicle features a layer of programmable RGB LED lights, further giving the effect of Tokyo’s metropolis. The rear window features an animated backdrop, easily programmable to feature Tokyo nightlife. SCPS has included Smart Tint in the modification, allowing windows to dim for the most optimal gaming conditions.
The car also features a custom-built gaming PC with an MSI Gaming GeForce GPU + AMD CPU. To add to the ultimate gaming experience a fog machine and automated RGB lasers are also installed for maximum effect.
64 percent of the Twitch streamers voted on a curved monitor and nearly 42 percent of the voters wanted a Cyber-designed, one-of-a-kind 3D printed game controller in dark teal, metallic space gray and accented in neon. The system also includes a retractable keyboard and mouse platform. As for the six-drink center console cooler, 61 percent of voters chose coffee drinks as their “game fuel” of choice. The entire vehicle has been custom wired to include all the electronics with programmable neon lighting.
