'Evangelion: 3.0+1.0' Receives Updated Release Date With New Teaser Trailer
After being delayed indefinitely.
After being delayed indefinitely, Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time has now received an updated release date with a new teaser trailer.
Coming in the form of a next-episode preview seen in the original Evangelion TV series, the clip is narrated by voice actress Kotono Mitsuishi, the voice of Misato Katsuragi. A rough translation of the narration touches on the series of delays and the current state of Japan regarding the Coronavirus pandemic.
“Originally, Thrice Upon a Time was supposed to be in theaters in Japan on June 27, only for the government-declared state of emergency over the Coronavirus crisis to prompt a postponement. Then January 23 was supposed to be the big day, only for another state of emergency to be declared. Hopefully though, the third time will be the charm for Thrice Upon a Time.”
Watch the new teaser trailer for above and expect Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time to hit theaters in Japan March 8.
