Take Shenron To the Links With 'Dragon Ball Z's New Era Golf Collaboration
Sweat-wicking caps emblazoned with Super Saiyan imagery.
New Era Japan’s string of high-profile collaborations continues unabated, reuniting with Dragon Ball Z for the first time since 2019. This time, the collection focuses on golf-ready shapes encompassing a host of lightweight headwear emblazoned with patches of unmistakable imagery from Akira Toriyama’s most-famous franchise.
Each of the 9Fifty, 9Forty A-Frame and Sunvisor silhouettes is graced by the thematic graphics, which range from memorable characters to simple stylized branding. The latter is realized by way of a “Dragon Ball Z Golf” logo, while the former enlists a selection of characters ranging from all-star icon Goku to wish-granting dragon Shenron to his fellow dragon Porunga. Porunga’s patch includes his “OK!” exclamation and accompanying hand gesture — despite potentially unsavory implications in America, the hand sign simply means “prosperity” in Japan.
Nearly every hat is offered in white or black, retaining the same imagery and construction throughout. Inside, antibacterial lining ensures that the hats remain fresh game after game, with an adjustable fit to make each especially easy to wear.
All of the Dragon Ball Z Golf items are shoppable on New Era Japan’s website, retailing from ¥4,180 JPY to ¥5,500 JPY (approximately $40 USD to $52 USD).
Most recently, New Era reunited with Yohji Yamamoto as part of the former imprint’s 100th anniversary.
