Carnival and ASICS Reunite for Vibrant Gel-Kayano 5 360 Collaboration
Building upon the two parties’ collaborative GEL-DS Trainer OG “Muay Thai” from 2019.

ASICS never evades collaborative dealings when it comes to the footwear department, and after recently linking up with Chemist Creations for a basketball-inspired collection, it’s now reconnecting with Bangkok’s Carnival for a fresh take atop the GEL-Kayano 5 360. The project serves as a follow-up to the two duo’s GEL-DS Trainer OG “Muay Thai” that launched back in 2019.
If you placed the aforementioned collaboration from two years ago with this new iteration next to it, one can notice the similarities in color schemes. However, you can make the argument that the newer installment is more bold in style due to more widespread accents.
The two focal hues here are “Putty” and “Directoire Blue”, the former swaddling the suede overlays found throughout while the latter takes care of the tiger stripes’ backgrounds, lace loops and heightened heel panel. Resting beneath are reflective layers that host a “Carnival” hit towards the heel, in addition to a mid-foot red, blue and white gradient that is covered in tiny chevron patterns. Moreover, orange-red bursts are sprawled to the sock liners, forefoot and borders of the tongue’s “a” logos.
GEL-cushioned midsoles go for the monochromatic grey aesthetic, and are piled above a three-toned outsole.
Find these available now via select retailers like Sneaker Politics for $185 USD.
