Nike Air Total Max Uptempo to Release in Classic "Bred" Colorway
A Chicago Bulls-esque palette for the recently revived retro hoops sneaker.

First released in 1997 and closely associated with Indiana Pacers sharpshooter Reggie Miller, Nike‘s Air Total Max Uptempo is set to hit shelves in a “Bred” colorway. Following up the re-release of the OG “Black/Volt” makeup in December, the “Bred” takes on a familiar black and red Nike Sportswear scheme, one that’s in line with the colors of Miller’s greatest foil: the Chicago Bulls.
A top-of-the line Nike Basketball sneaker in ‘97, the Total Max Uptempo still looks premium today, thanks to its tumbled leather upper and wavy lines. Here, these pieces are done up in black and overlaid with a black suede piece that covers the toebox, rises up to the eyestays and falls back down onto the heel. Signature details are supplied by a large red patent leather midfoot Swoosh and a circular, chromed-out heel piece with Nike Air text. Heel tabs and tongue badges alike serve up further branding, and a full foot red Air Max unit with a red and black outsole completes the look.
The Nike Air Total Max Uptempo “Bred” has been rumored for a February 18 release via Nike and retailers like Foot Locker, though this has yet to be officially confirmed. The MSRP is set at $180 USD.
