Donald Glover and Phoebe Waller-Bridge to Star in Amazon's 'Mr. & Mrs. Smith' Series
The duo previously worked together in ‘Solo: A Star Wars Story.’

After starring together in 2018’s Solo: A Star Wars Story, Donald Glover is now reuniting with Phoebe Waller-Bridge for Amazon Prime Video‘s new spin on Mr. & Mrs. Smith.
Working collaboratively with New Regency — which released the original movie back in 2005 with Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie — Amazon’s new take on the title will come in the form of a series on its streaming platform instead of a feature film, and both Glover and Waller-Bridge will be producing aside from being cast as the two main characters. The show is currently slated for release sometime in 2022, and is co-created by Francesca Sloane, whose previous work includes Fargo and Seven Seconds.
“Talk about the dream team! Donald and Phoebe are two of the most talented creators and performers in the world. It’s truly a dream for us, as it will be for our global audience, to have these two forces of nature collaborating as a powerhouse creative team,” said head of Amazon Studios Jennifer Salke in a statement. “Mr. and Mrs. Smith is an iconic property, and we can’t wait to see how Donald, Phoebe and Francesca make it their own. We’re thrilled to be working with them, and with such great partners at New Regency.”
