BAL SS21 Heads to the Hills

The Japanese label continues to meld casual silhouettes and technical appeal.

Japanese casualwear label BAL continues to mix statement graphical accents with street-leaning silhouettes, as its usual laid-back approach gets a little more technical for Spring/Summer 2021. The new looks include the usual playful basics, mixed in with some additional adventure flavor.

BAL’s preferred baggy T-shirts and sleek track pants return in force, accompanied by some bold new prints and patterns — one set features high-contrast color-blocked paint splatter — and occasionally elevated by this new trek-ready approach. For instance, some shirts are now crafted from breathable mesh and feature zippered stash pockets, occasionally layered under weatherproof jackets finished with D-rings and zip-off sleeves. Complementing the stylistic cues of the latter, the new lineup also includes some high-spec vests, mesh-pocketed bags and water-fighting hats ideal for coping with warm weather showers.

SS21 is now available on BAL’s website and at stockists like SO Nakameguro, O and 417 EDIFICE.

Elsewhere in Japan, FACCIES introduced its own bold SS21 fare.
