adidas' Newest NMD R1 PK Borrows the OG NMD's Color Palette
Instantly sending us back to the lifestyle silhouette’s genesis in 2015.

Sneakerheads of this generation will forever remember the gargantuan wave of popularity that adidas saw within its lifestyle category in 2015, and one of the iterations that was highly heralded during this era was the OG adidas NMD. Fast forward nearly six years later, and that recognizable palette is being reincarnated thanks to this newly launched adidas NMD_R1 PK “Core Black”.
The execution of these BOOST-cushioned kicks is straightforward every sense. Everything up top from the PrimeKnit uppers to the laces to the heel counter is drenched in its titular tone, leaving for the bottom half to sport all of the lighter accents. Branding is present here through the typical Three Stripes on the lateral and medial sides which are present through tonal stitching, as well as on the rear piece which hosts the usual Trefoil embellishment.
Moving downwards, the BOOST foam is left untouched, and arrives with the standard midsole blocks that are colored in red towards the back and blue for the forefoot to best translate its muse. Solid black treading stacked underneath caps off its nostalgic design
If interested in purchasing, these are available now through atmos for ¥19,000 (approx. $179 USD).
