Zegna Taps La Sportiva for Two Mountain Hiking Sneakers
Debuting the Ultra Raptor and Tx Top boot.
Following on from its recent rebrand, Zegna continues its foray into the great outdoors with a new footwear collaboration with the Italian label La Sportiva.
Debuting two mountain running offerings dubbed the Ultra Raptor and the Tx Top, the pairs combine La Sportiva’s signature technology and hiking endurance sensibilities with Zegna’s aesthetic, resulting in a luxe take on a classic mountainousness shoe. For the Ultra Raptor, Zegna and La Sportiva craft an upper from Air Mesh that’s interwoven with microfiber to reinforce the structure, before decorating the upper in yellow and vicuna detailing.
Elsewhere, an integrated lacing system stems out from the Air Mesh upper, hooking into it for a secure and tight fit. All of this comes together to offer an abrasion-resistant, hard-wearing upper that can take a battering on your mountain walks, while elements such as the GORE-TEX Extended Comfort lining continue to protect your feet. Accompanying this is an ultra-sticky FriXion XF with Impact Brake System sole unit that’s fitted with shock-absorbing EVA foam before being aided by an Ortholite footbed for extra comfort.
The Tx Top boot is equally capable, sporting a single mesh upper that incorporates a water-repellent and anti-drag stretch gaiter alongside PU-Tech Lite protective rubber and GORE-TEX-capped elements on the toe. As for the sole, you’ve got Vibram MegaGrip combined with an Impact Brake System and Ortholite’s 4mm Approach footbed for comfort, support, traction, and durability.
Zegna’s La Sportiva Ultra Raptor retails for $395 USD, while the Tx Top boot costs $495 USD. Both can be seen above and bought online now.
