WACKO MARIA and nonnative Unveil Converse All Star 100 Hi Collab
Both Tokyo-based brands’ signature embellishments adorn the classic high-top silhouette.
For the very first time, nonnative and WACKO MARIA are linking up to debut their take on Converse’s classic All Star Hi silhouette which showcases signature embellishments from both Japanese brands. Earlier this quarter, both labels have released separate collections with nonnative’s 40th apparel lineup inspired by the pioneering outdoors scene across Europe throughout the ‘80s and ‘90s while WACKO MARIA’s capsule of mod coats, sweatshirts and T-shirts pay homage to Bob Dylan.
WACKO MARIA took to Instagram to tease the new release in both white and black which utilizes the classic All Star 100 Hi base with dyed and washed canvas uppers featuring a military-boot-inspired zip fastening and reinforced medial eyelets. The brands’ logo and imprint are found on the back of the tongues while Converse’s mainstay motif adorns the ankle. WACKO MARIA’s leopard animal print lines the interiors of the white pair while a python print lines the black edition. The vulcanized sole wraps over “REACT” cup-insoles for upgraded cushioning, fit, and ventilation as the TractionSole tooling unit gives the shoe a strong grip underfoot. Binding the tongue to the sole is elastic tape to allow one to sport the design without laces and open zippers.
The nonnative x WACKO MARIA x Converse All Star Hi is set to release on December 18 at 11:00 AM JST (December 17 at 9:00 PM EST) exclusively through COVERCHORD, vendor and Wacko Maria locations with a retail price of ¥18,000 JPY (approximately $160 USD).
