Nike’s Air Max Plus SE "Running Club" Passes the Retro Vibe Check
With a wavy new colorway.

Nike’s recent addition to its fictional “Air Max Running Club” comes in the form of its new Air Max Plus SE University Red and Light Photo Blue colorway.
While the “Club” celebrates Nike’s track heritage, the “SE” has been updated and enhanced with CORDURA® waterproof fabric – for those rainy running days – and still boasts the recognizable TPU gradient finger-waves on the sides of the shoe; this time nodding to the west coast’s sunsets, palm trees and ocean tides.
The dominant red and blue color pattern is offset with signature Sail and Pollen accents that mimic the brand’s throwback 1970s suede editions, with serrated edge cutting and foam tongue. Each Nike “Air” unit has durable lightweight cushioning, and the synthetic uppers that inspire an “Athletics West” aesthetic include a rubber outsole that allows for better traction and stability.
Listed as a “best seller” on the brand’s site, the sneaker retails for $170 USD, and is available now at nike.com.
