Drake Honors Memory of Virgil Abloh With a Tattoo
Based on an iconic photo of Virgil from his Louis Vuitton SS20 show.
Weeks after the untimely death of Virgil Abloh, Drake recently got a tattoo honoring the memory of the visionary that served as Artistic Director of Louis Vuitton‘s menswear and Chief Executive Officer of Off-White™.
Revealed by tattoo artist Joaquin Ganga of Ganga Tattoo, the tattoo that the Canadian artist got is based on an iconic photo of Virgil throwing a kite down the runway of his Louis Vuitton Spring/Summer 2020 show. Over the years, Drake and Virgil shared a very open friendship, with the creative helping design Drake’s private jet and Patek Philippe Nautilus watch referenced on “Life Is Good.” The tattoo of Virgil Abloh joins other tributes found on Drake’s body, which include tattoos of Aaliyah, Sade, the Beatles and more.
