WTAPS Opens WTAPS® (W_Lab) Base in Tokyo
Offering a unique shopping experience.
Tetsu Nishiyama‘s longstanding Japanese streetwear label WTAPS, has opened a new “WTAPS® (W_Lab)” base in Aoyama, Tokyo.
Located on the first floor of the complex facility “FROM 1st Building” near Omotesando Station, the space was born out of a desire to experiment with new modes of physical expression. The minimalist interiors are coated in cool grey tones echoing its concrete floors, and a large rectangular block dubbed the “Monolith” can be seen through the panoramic floor-to-ceiling windows. Reservations are currently required to visit, and the in-store staff serves each visitor one-on-one. Looking to deliver a unique tailored shopping experience, items can be chosen and pre-purchased online, to be delivered to the fitting room in anticipation of each customer’s arrival.
While COVID-19 has made online purchases more common, WTAPS has opened its new conceptual store for customers to enjoy the world view of the brand using all five senses. Take a look at the new WTAPS space above, and for those in Japan, the WTAPS website is now taking admission reservations.
