The lifestyle sneaker line is said to be inspired by Pharrell’s friendship with members of the Native American Dakota tribe, and the model name “Sičhona” roughly translates to “Barefoot,” borrowing from the Indigenous phrase “connecting to the earth.”
Pharell’s adidas Humanrace Sičhona “Black” features one-piece Primeknit uppers resembling the Ultraboost Uncaged models, updated with Futurenatural for added comfort and elasticity. A light pink Humanrace logo is printed across the quarter panels, and the sock-like ankle collar is decorated with a steel grey tongue tag. Speckled round laces run across the mid-foot, and a molded synthetic midsole and “Humanrace” textured outsole complete the look. Light blue auxiliary laces come with the pairs to offer a more colorful alternative.
The Pharrell x adidas Humanrace Sičhona “Black” is set to release in the coming weeks on the adidas website and select retailers for $180 USD.
