Netflix Drops Trailer for Sci-Fi Thriller Series 'The Silent Sea'
The crew has a 10% survival rate.
Following the success of Squid Game, the show largely responsible for gathering a global interest in South Korean Netflix Originals, the streaming platform has debuted a teaser for its upcoming series The Silent Sea.
The sci-fi mystery thriller series is adapted from the short film The Sea of Tranquility directed by Choi Hang-yong, who will also direct the Netflix series. Set in the year 2075 with the depletion of Earth’s resources, the plot centers around a team of space specialists embarking on a routine 24-hour mission to retrieve samples from an abandoned lunar Balhae Base research station. It’s then revealed and only 10% of crew members are expected to survive.
The series stars Gong Yoo, Bae Doona and Lee Joon. The Silent Sea is scheduled to be released on Netflix on December 24.
