American rock band The Grateful Dead is getting a biopic and Jonah Hill has been cast as the iconic lead guitarist and vocalist, Jerry Garcia. The upcoming work is set to be directed by Academy award-winning director and producer Martin Scorsese, the mind behind films like Taxi Driver, The Wolf of Wall Street, The Irishman and more.

The forthcoming movie has been set in motion by Apple, which owns the Grateful Dead catalog, and will see Hill and Scorsese as co-producers. Screenwriters Scott Alexander and Larry Karaszewski, in addition to Rick Yorn of LBI Entertainment, have also signed on to the project, according to Deadline. The Grateful Dead bandmembers Bob Weir, Mickey Hart, Bill Kreutzmann, Phil Lesh and Garcia’s daughter Trixie Garcia will also serve as executive producers.

The new movie sees the first time Hill and Scorsese have worked together since the 2013 blockbuster The Wolf of Wall Street. Further details about the movie’s plot have yet to be revealed.
