The Lancia Delta Integrale was a formidable Group A rally car in the ’80s and ’90s, and now it returns in electric form thanks to GCK Motorsport.

Dubbed the GCK Motorsport Evo-e, this all-electric rally car is set to take on the inaugural electric FIA World Rallycross Championship in 2022, alongside 13 other cars on the course setting times to become the champion.

Power comes from a Kreisel electric source, delivering a rather hefty 680 BHP and 650 lb-ft of torque, which should be good for a 0-62 MPH time of 1.8 seconds — faster than a Formula 1 car, which typically hits the same mark in 2.6 seconds.

Some might sniff at the idea of an electric rally championship, as the noise of the cars is part of the experience, but there’s more to it than just switching from petrol to electricity. As GCK Motorsports’ website states, it will be “Using a combination of solar energy and power collected from green energy networks ahead of race weekends, [and in turn], GCK Energy will supply electricity to recharge the batteries of all cars between races from its custom containers, making the new generation of World Rallycross one of the most environmentally conscious disciplines in motorsport.”

As for the car itself, it maintains the signature boxy aesthetic that made the Integrale instantly recognizable on and off the dirt, and is set to have a contemporary rally-themed livery like the one you can see above. That’s all that’s been said for now — stay tuned to HYPEBEAST and HYPEBEAST Car Club for more information as news unfolds around the upcoming season.

In other news, you will soon be able to spec your Tesla Model S Plaid with carbon-ceramic brakes… for $20,000 USD.
