Audi is officially gearing up for a bold new era of high-performance EVs. Following its stunning debut at the IAA Mobility show in Munich last September, Audi CEO Gernot Döllner has confirmed that the radical Concept C sports car is officially heading for production.

Quashing recent rumors regarding the potential cancellation of the brand’s electric sports car program, Döllner announced that a production version of the Concept C will hit the market within the next two years. Serving as a true spiritual successor to the legendary Audi TT and R8, the all-electric two-seater is expected to be built on an advanced central-battery architecture closely shared with the upcoming fully-electric Porsche 718, ensuring dynamic rear-wheel-drive performance and balanced handling.

The Concept C represents a defining moment for the German automaker, serving as the ultimate manifestation of Chief Creative Officer Massimo Frascella’s new “strive for clarity” design philosophy. The sleek roadster boasts athletic, monolithic proportions, measuring 4,520 mm long and 1,970 mm wide. The striking exterior design seamlessly pays homage to the brand’s heritage with a bold vertical front frame inspired by the 1936 Auto Union Type C, while introducing modern elements like a distinct four-element light signature and an innovative electrically retractable hardtop—a first for an Audi roadster.

Inside the cabin, the Concept C emphasizes a distraction-free, driver-focused environment that blends high-tech innovation with emotional engagement. The minimalist interior features a 10.4-inch fold-away display that remains completely hidden until activated, allowing the driver to focus purely on the road. Solid, tactile aluminum haptic controls delivering the signature mechanical “Audi click,” paired with a refined mix of tone-on-tone natural materials, further elevate the sophisticated atmosphere.

While exact pricing and performance specifications remain under wraps, the highly anticipated production version of the Audi Concept C is expected to officially arrive on the market by 2027.
