Disney+ is now reportedly working on a film documenting Walt Disney‘s journey to creating Disneyland, “the happiest place on Earth.”

According to Deadline, the project will be helmed by David Gordon Green, who has just come out of directing the highly anticipated Halloween sequel Halloween Kills. Joining him will be Disney veteran Evan Spiliotopoulos, whose previous works include The Jungle Book 2Tinker Bell and the Lost TreasureBeauty and the Beast‘s live-action remake, Snow White and the Huntsmen, and Hercules. Jason Reed — who spent a year developing the project prior to pitching it to Disney — will be producing under Cavalry Media’s banner.

Disneyland first opened its doors on July 17, 1955, and was called Mickey Mouse Parks at the time. The only Disney theme park to have ever been built under direct supervision from Disney himself, it was built on a 160-acre plot near Anaheim purchased back in 1953 and drew inspiration from other locations such as Greenfield Village, Henry Ford’s Museum, Denmark’s Tivoli Gardens, Colonial Williamsburg, the Chicago’s Century of Progress and New York’s 1939 World Fair.

Other information regarding the movie’s cast or release window has yet to be announced, so Disney enthusiasts should definitely stay tuned for more updates to come.

Elsewhere in entertainment, Will Poulter has been officially confirmed as Adam Warlock for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.
