Phillips Collaborates With Laurent Ferrier On Hommage II Limited Edition
Every component except the movement is bespoke.

Auction house Phillips has collaborated with Laurent Ferrier for a second time, and for the first time is offering some of the pieces for general sale.
Phillips first collaborated with the Swiss independent watchmaker on the Hommage I, a 12-piece limited edition purely intended for staff at Phillips and members of its Watches Advisory Board.
Senior consultant Aurel Bacs – the world’s highest profile watch auctioneer – and Alex Ghotbi, Phillips’ Head of Watches in Europe and the Middle East, are not only proud owners of the Hommage I, but are behind the design of the 40mm stainless steel Hommage II, a tribute to step case watches from the 1940s.
“The HOMMAGE II is a true tribute to the 1930s, 40s and 50s, the golden era of watchmaking,” said the pair in a joint statement. “We didn’t invent anything, clearly, but during our respective careers we have seen hundreds and thousands of vintage timepieces and we thought what were the elements that we particularly appreciated in these pieces, may it be a step case, flat bezel, polished and brushed surface finish on a case, snailed polishing of a crown, multiple tone dials with varying finishes, the shape of the hands and many more elements, and we brought them all together in one watch.”
“The watch is a fusion of designs from the first half of the 20th century we appreciated in Longines, Omega, Patek Philippe, Audemars Piguet, IWC or Movado to name a few and added our own personal touch to create a watch with different elements that may have been seen separately but never together. It took us close to two years to finalize the design and hope that the community will appreciate the results as much as we enjoyed designing the watches.”
All of the components, except the handwound Calibre LF 116.01 movement, were made specifically for this watch, even down to the creation of the logo.
The Hommage II is a limited edition of 32 pieces, 16 with a black dial and 16 with a “powder pink” dial available via Phillips Perpetual, priced CHF 32,000 ($34,500 USD).
