slowthai Enlists A$AP Rocky for New Single "MAZZA"
Set to appear on the British rapper’s forthcoming album ‘TYRON.’
slowthai and A$AP Rocky have joined forces for their first ever collaboration, “MAZZA.”
Clocking in at just under three minutes, the new cut is co-produced by the British rapper and his frequent collaborator SAMO. “MAZZA” begins with a catchy hook from slowthai over a looping synth and an energetic beat, and he continues to lay out the first verse while Rocky enters with a followup. The AWGE head also namedrops friend Tyler, the Creator and pays homage to the late Pop Smoke.
“MAZZA” is set to appear on slowthai’s sophomore effort TYRON, which drops February 5. In a lengthy statement on Insagram, he explained that the album was “created during a difficult time in my life.” He continued, “[I] hope this album can be the light if you’re in the dark, and to know you’re not alone. [I]t’s okay to be yourself, f*ck everything else. [L]earn, grow, aim to be better than you were yesterday.”
