Nike has unveiled a new collaboration between LeBron James and Kylian Mbappé. Titled “The Chosen 2,” the new capsule celebrates the relationship between the two athletes and their shared goals of giving back to the communities they were raised in.

The pack features two silhouettes, the LeBron 18 and Mercurial football boot, both of which have been given a redesign inspired by “the idea of duality, parallel paths.” The previously-seen LeBron 18 sneaker is dressed in a black Knitposite 2.0 upper with a translucent sole. Key details reference the two sports stars, with a special LeBron x Kylian graphic on the heel, an air system on the tongue boasting each of their logos, a double Swoosh on the forefoot and sockliners and a basketball x football graphic.

A number of the same details appear on the Mercurial, which comes in a special pattern and features hits of black and silver with an iridescent finish. The “Chosen One” logo is used on the front of the toe, while the double Swoosh branding features prominently.

Speaking about the collaboration, Mbappé said, “LeBron is a unique champion and I have the deepest respect for him on, but also off the court. He is an inspiration to me. From Akron to Paris, we are both taking action to move the lines in our society and offer a better world to the younger generation. I truly hope our common message will have a strong social impact and this is just the beginning of our stories.” This message was echoed by LeBron James, who said, “No matter where I go in the world, I will always be just a kid from Akron. And I will always use my platform and do everything I can to uplift and empower the kids coming up after me. It’s about creating real, tangible change, and always leaving a place better than you found it.”

Take a look at the “Chosen 2” pack in the gallery above. Both silhouettes are due to release via the Nike web store on January 9. As part of the collaboration, Nike will make a donation to Mbappé’s IBKM foundation and the LeBron James Family Foundation.
