New Balance Tokyo Design Studio Dresses the Niobium Boot in "Steel"
The boot-turned-mule gets a tonal rework.

New Balance‘s Tokyo Design Studio has revisited the hardwearing and adjustable TDS Niobium Concept 1 boot, following on from a collaborative release with Snow Peak earlier this year. The boot has been reworked into a new colorway, but still retains the technical elements including a waterproof lining and ABZORB cushioning.
As with all Niobium releases, the stand-out feature of the boot is its two-in-one construction. As well as the trail-ready hiking boot, the Niobium can be reworked to create a comfortable mule silhouette for wearing around the campsite and inside the tent.
The newest Tokyo Design Studio take on the silhouette sees an all-over “Steel” colorway used. This color contrasts against the midsole, as well as white detailing on the side and tongue. Black hardware including the toggle fastening and zip around the ankle finishes off the boot’s design.
The New Balance Tokyo Design Studio Niobium in “Steel” is due to arrive at select stockists including sivasdescalzo on January 15.
For more from New Balance, Salehe Bembury could have a new 2002R colorway on the way.
