In the special’s trailer, the actor/comedian revealed that Total Blackout will be “a remixed version of a special” — the first of its kind — and clarified that it is “not a routine. It’s a special.” Fans can expect a slew of new jokes, interviews and behind-the-scenes moments, with the clip briefly teasing an appearance from none other than Rock’s colleague and friend Dave Chappelle.
Tamborine was originally directed by Bo Burnham and marked Rock’s first standup special in a decade. The special gave him his fourth GRAMMY nomination for Best Comedy Album, following three wins with Roll with the New, Bigger & Blacker and Never Scared.
