Air Jordan 1 Mid "Signal Blue" Features Patent Leather Overlays
And thick, cartoon-like black trim.

Jordan Brand‘s Air Jordan 1 release slate is quite diverse for 2021, thanks to new takes on the OG AJ1 like the “Volt Gold” and the continued success of alternate models like the Air Jordan 1 High Zoom CMFT and the Air Jordan 1 Mid. However, it’s the last of those three that’s taking center stage here — with the Air Jordan 1 Mid set to release in a patent leather-equipped “Signal Blue” colorway.
Harkening back to memorable mid-cut AJ1s from the early ’00s with its alternate build, the “Signal Blue” uses patent leather on its bright blue mudguard, eyestays, heels and collar flaps. The nylon throat is done up in blue as well, and standard white leather graces toeboxes, quarter panels and collars alike.
Black appears on all the branded accents, namely the patent midfoot Swoosh, the stamped ball-and-wings logo on the collar and the Jumpman badge on the tongue. Contrasting piping and stitching plays a big part in the design as well: each of the upper’s overlays is rimmed by thick, cartoon-like black trim and the Swoosh is secured with blue contrast stitches. Black laces, white midsoles and black outsoles finalize the look.
The Air Jordan 1 Mid “Signal Blue” is available now via Nike Japan, and is priced at ¥14,300 JPY (approximately $137 USD). A US release will likely follow in the coming weeks.
