Tyshawn Jones' adidas Tyshawn Gets a New York Knicks-Inspired Colorway
A nod to the Bronx-born skateboarder’s hometown hoops squad.
adidas has readied Tyshawn Jones‘ signature Tyshawn in a New York Knicks-inspired colorway for a nod to the Bronx-born skater’s NYC roots. Though skateboarding and basketball are undeniably two vastly different pursuits, Jones’ adidas Skateboarding shoe does have an element of hoops flair to it thanks to its 5/8 cut — and so does Jones’ on-board style as well, with the way he effortlessly flies through the air comparable to NBA athletes soaring for a high-octane slam dunk.
Uppers are constructed of black leather, with the toebox and eyestays overlaying the midfoot. This midfoot is where the Knicks-inspired detailing begins thanks to an orange Three Stripe graphic trimmed with blue on the lateral and medial sides alike. There’s also a V-shaped blue strip present under the synthetic collar to drive the inspiration home further, and gold foil hits on the lateral side (Tyshawn’s name) and tongue (a Trefoil logo) alike add metallic flair. Durable white midsoles and outsoles finalize the look.
