Playboi Carti, Kendall Jenner and Bella Hadid Show Off Givenchy's SS21 Designs in Debut Campaign
A star-studded start for creative director Matthew M. Williams.

As if Matthew M. Williams‘ debut Givenchy collection for Spring/Summer 2021 needed any more fanfare, the luxury house has invited a host of the designer’s celebrity friends to showcase the new wares. Playboi Carti, the first Williams pal to cosign the artistic director’s new effort, joins a cast of extremely in-demand models in showcasing the new accessories, bags, shoes and ready-to-wear.
Flanked by Kendall Jenner, Bella Hadid and supermodels Anok Yai and Liam Powers, Carti takes a turn flexing the covetable apparel, styling himself in a black leather bomber, chunky eyewear and even a pair of gold boots graced by crocodile pattern. Jenner’s looks takes a relaxed approach to tailoring while Hadid debuts a cut-out top laden with Williams’ industrial accents and the Marshmallow slide sandals. Yai’s crinkled leather jacket mirrors the texture seen throughout, highlighting the statement jewelry.
“To me, fashion expresses a point of view where formality and informality, construction and comfort co-exist. My ethos is about the luxury of infusing clothes with your own personality, not being worn by them,” Williams in a statement. “In each of these portraits, a strong character wears a look that reflects who they are: they’re the ones who bring the clothes to life.”
Givenchy most recently introduced Williams’ revised Antigona bag series, one of which appears in a snapshot of Jenner.
