Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion Launch 'Inside the WAP' Video Series
Revealing rehearsal footage of the visual that dominated the summer.
If you’re interested in how Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion‘s music video “WAP” came about, you’re in luck. The chart-topping artists recently launched the first episode of Inside the WAP (Part 1). The ongoing video installment offers fans behind-the-scenes looks into the making of the visual that dominated the summer.
The first episode features nine minutes of production footage, starting with the duo rushing to get the visual completed in Los Angeles in July. Cardi is observed wearing a black tanktop and shorts with no make-up on as she relays the rehearsal plan to a room of dancers before engaging in choreography sessions with Megan.
A sequence of the set build-out is then shown with a transition into a news clip of California Governor Gavin Newsom detailing the new COVID-19 restrictions on indoor gatherings for the fourth of July holiday — forcing Cardi, Megan and the dance troupe to get the video wrapped as soon as possible.
Megan is also spotted taking two big swigs to calm her nerves for the scene where she places an albino Burmese python around her neck. “They got a big motherfu**er out there, like 120 pound,” Megan says in the clip as she warns Cardi that “this snake is big as sh*t.”
Check out the BTS footage above where you also get to see Cardi motivating Mulatto, Normani, Sukihana and Rubi Rose for their parts in the visual.
