Little could be gleaned from the recent Hender Scheme x The North Face teaser, but it seemed likely that the ensuing partnership would yield weather-ready gear enlivened by Hender Scheme‘s playful design ethos. Indeed, the resulting designs surprisingly infuse Hender Scheme’s signature leather and sneaker silhouettes with a classic The North Face design cue: the insulating Nuptse puffer shape.
Comprising three separate shapes, the joint effort includes the Nuptse Peel Gore, Nuptse Down Moc and a revamped mountain boot. All are realized with black water-resistant leather uppers (shaped to resemble the Nuptse quilting) with contrasting white logos, without retreading territory explored by TNF’s own adventurous Nuptse footwear. Hender Scheme’s vegetable-tanned leather tags and chunky Vibram 186C Megagrip and 2146 Clean Trek soles further distinguish the rugged silhouettes.
