Craig Green and Grenson Reunite for FW20 Collaboration
Introducing a new sneaker style produced in England.
After releasing capsules with Champion and adidas Originals recently, London-based designer Craig Green has continued his ongoing partnership with Grenson for FW20. The collaboration — originally shown at Paris Fashion Week back in January — features three silhouettes and is based around the idea of producing entirely moulded shoes.
All three styles feature the same aesthetic, which sees visible stitching kept to a minimum so only what is necessary can be seen. Additionally, the three silhouettes all feature a Craig Green elastic panel, as well as a slip-on fastening complete with ghillie lacing system and a black high shine leather construction. The capsule sees Green work on two formal shoes — a Goodyear welted shoe and a Goodyear welted boot — as well as a sneaker with a Goodyear cupsole.
Launching the collection, Grenson creative director and CEO Tim Little said, “I love that this is our fifth season working with Craig because it’s great to see how the shoes have evolved over that time. Craig likes to explore the technical aspects of how a shoe is actually made and visits the factory to get a proper understanding. My favorite is the sneaker as its so rare to see this kind of shoe made in a traditional English shoe factory.”
