Monitaly FW20 Tweaks Traditional Americana With Modern Reconstruction
Emphasizing quilted duffle coats, embroidered ponchos and more.

Monitaly has released its Fall/Winter 2020 lookbook. The Yuki Matsuda-helmed label has delivered an eclectic assemblage of reconstructed outerwear, a bold departure from neatly cut garments from its SS19 collection.
Spanning quilted parkas, khaki slacks, multi-paneled denim jackets, embroidered ponchos, velvet puffer jackets, striped duffle coats and nylon trousers, to mention a few, the collection is enlivened by understated palettes and meticulous construction. Noteworthy pieces include the embroidered poncho, detailed with a series of traditional Americana-inspired motifs, like thunderbirds, lightning bolts and teepees. Another highlight is a bright orange parka constructed with an intricate diamond-quilt pattern. It comes with an oversized cut, detailed with contrasting black hardware, twin waist pockets and a large hood to round off its functional design. Other pieces like the raw denim jacket, corduroy trousers, multi-pocket chore coat, quilted nylon pants and olive bomber jacket finalize the expansive range.
Monitaly’s Fall/Winter 2020 collection is currently available on the label’s website, ranging from $220 – $1,210 USD.
