This 1999 Acura NSX Zanardi Edition Is One of 51 Built, and Will Cost You Over $215k USD
Is this the ultimate NSX?

The 1999 Acura NSX Zanardi Edition was built to commemorate Alex Zanardi’s CART championships with Honda in 1997 and 1998, and only 51 units were produced. Here, Bring A Trailer is offering the 51st model at auction, giving one lucky a buyer a chance to own a slice of automotive history.
This model in question is a one-owner, 12,000-mile example finished in the signature colorway of “New Formula Red” over “Onyx,” and it features a number of very special and desirable details all around. Aside from the much-loved pop-up headlights and its mid-mounted 3.2-liter DOHC V6 engine that produced 290 HP and 224 lb-ft of torque when new, the NSX Zanardi Edition also sports a list of limited-edition upgrades, many of which are there to reduce weight.
For example, the NSX Zanardi Edition features a fixed roof instead of the removable Targa panel, as well as a lightweight rear spoiler, single-pane rear glass, forged BBS wheels in “Dark Gray”, manual steering, and a lightweight battery, which helps the car shed 149 lbs.
This incredibly rare version of an already rare car was built with performance and precision at mind. As such, it comes with a tougher, firmer suspension, as well as manual rack-and-pinion steering. Altogether, the car offers an even more visceral driving experience in comparison to a standard NSX.
Back in 1999, the Acura NSX Zanardi Edition #51 cost $84,745 USD. Today, it’s listed on Bring A Trailer with the price already past $200,000 USD — and there are still two days to go. Take a closer look at the car above, and check out the full listing on Bring A Trailer’s website.
