Shy Glizzy Returns With His New Album 'Young Jefe 3'
The D.C. rapper’s star-studded project is full of emotion and introspection.
Shy Glizzy‘s new album Young Jefe 3 is here and full of some of hip-hop’s biggest names, but don’t let that detract from the fact that the 27-year-old Washington D.C. rapper is still the star of his own show. The 18-track project follows last year’s introspective Covered N Blood, his most personal album to date.

While the third installment of his Jefe series comes four years after Young Jefe 2, enough has changed in Glizzy’s career trajectory to make this new effort just a spiritual successor. His status has changed quite a bit too. Meek Mill, Lil Uzi Vert, Jeremih, Ty Dolla $ign, G Herbo and NoCap are all spirited collaborators that will bring more (much deserved) eyes and ears to the offering.
The Uzi featuring “Right or Wrong” dropped in June with production by TM88 but Glizzy is still able to revisit trauma and his raw emotionality to tracks like “Lonely Vibes”. Jeremih and Ty Dolla $ign are the perfect teammates on “Like That” while “Only God Can Judge Me” benefits from electric guitar and the rapper’s penchant for melodies.
