In a similar vein to his Fred Perry partnership, Raf Simons has continued to issue seasonal Eastpak collaborations, with another round of co-branded goods launching in time for Fall/Winter 2020. Heavily indebted to Simons’ corresponding runway show, the emphasis is on graphic appeal, but there are also some more understated nods to his latest menswear collection.

Most obviously, the collection is loaded with patches, dangling white chains and matching D-rings, which stand in stark contrast to the neutral grey wool shell that informs each backpack, daypack and crossbody bag. Raw-hemmed scraps of fabric read “THEY CAN’T STOP US ALL” and “SOLAR YOUTH” to reiterated the theme, but the textile that informs each bag is also intelligently selected to correspond with Simons’ mainline wares. Specifically, the collegiate-shaped chenille “R” patch and faintly-patterned wool call back to both school uniforms — an eternal influence for Simons — and the contemporary tailoring that informs his current offering, matching the lined wool suits and slacks.

The collaborative bags will launch on Eastpak’s website and stockists like Dover Street Market on September 25.

Ahead of Simons’ debut Prada show, the Belgian designer announced a new womenswear line.
