Moda Operandi Unveils Range of One-of-A-Kind Judith Leiber Bags
Recut from their original molds and constructed with over 10,000 stones.
Online luxury fashion retailer Moda Operandi has just announced a selection of over 40 one-of-a-kind collector bags from the Judith Leiber Archival Museum that will be sold exclusively on its platform. The range includes both archival collector pieces that are recut from their original molds, as well as novelty bags that take more than 100 hours to create by hand.
Hungarian-American fashion designer Judith Leiber was best known for her crystal minaudières, or decorative handbags that take the form of different animals and objects. She transformed fashion accessories into striking works of art encrusted with Swarovski crystals and plated with silver or gold. For Moda Operandi’s curated selection of bags, each piece features over 10,000 stones that have been individually set, polished and painted. Examples include glistening koi fish, delicate birds and a variety of fruits and vegetables. Every bag is made to order.
Take a closer look at the bejeweled bags in the slideshow above. The selection will soon launch on Moda Operandi’s website and will be available to order through October 7.
For more bejeweled accessories, Collina Strada put together a set of Rhinestone Water Bottles exclusively for SSENSE.
