M. Night Shyamalan Announces Upcoming Thriller 'Old'
Starring ‘Hereditary’ lead actor Alex Wolff, Gael Garcia Bernal and Eliza Scanlen.

M. Night Shyamalan took to Twitter to officially announce his upcoming film, Old.
Sharing the thriller’s official poster and a photo of him on location, the filmmaker wrote, “Feels like a miracle that I am standing here shooting the first shot of my new film. It’s called Old.” The accompanying artwork depicts an hourglass with silhouettes of people replacing the typically-used sand and the phrase “It’s only a matter of time,” while the photo sees Shymalan masked up and holding a clapperboard.
Not a lot of information about Old was revealed, however, reports claim that the film is inspired by Sandcastle, a French graphic novel by Pierre Oscar Levy and artist Frederik Peeters that follows a group of people who land on an island that heavily speeds up time (and life) and kills visitors in just a few hours.
The cast includes Coco‘s Gael Garcia Bernal, Hereditary star Alex Wolff, Eliza Scanlen, Thomasin McKenzie, Aaron Pierre, Vicky Krieps, Abbey Lee, Nikki Amuka-Bird, Ken Leung, Rufus Sewell, Embeth Davidtz and Emun Elliott.
Stay tuned for the official trailer. Old premieres July 23, 2021.
