Become a Wizard in Upcoming 'Hogwarts Legacy' Video Game
Set in the 1800s at the legendary wizarding school.
Warner Bros. Games and Disney Infinity developer Avalanche Software have now announced a new open-world action RPG based around the Harry Potter book series’ iconic wizarding school, Hogwarts.
Named Hogwarts Legacy, the upcoming title will allow players to fully immerse themselves in the world of magic by enrolling to the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in the 1800s, almost two centuries before the events of Harry Potter and his friends. As seen in the trailer, you’ll get the chance to learn magic in various classes, uncover hidden secrets around the school, and fight against all kinds of fantastical foes.
“It’s such an honor to work on such an amazing franchise and the team is dedicated to delivering an authentic Wizarding World experience that both Harry Potter and RPG fans will enjoy,” said John Blackburn, studio general manager at Avalanche. “Hogwarts Legacy is so special because it allows players to immerse themselves in a new narrative that is filled with complex characters, and, of course, magic.”
Hogwarts Legacy will release some time in 2021 for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
Elsewhere in gaming, Square Enix has announced the long-awaited Final Fantasy XVI.
