Armani Caesar Makes Her Impressive Entrance With 'THE LIZ'
The First Lady of Griselda is here.
Buffalo MC Armani Caesar has delivered her debut Griselda project, THE LIZ.
Clocking in at 25 minutes, the 11-track EP includes features from Griselda core Westside Gunn, Conway The Machine and Benny The Butcher and production from the likes of DJ Premier, 808 Mafia, Camoflauge Monk and more. Caesar offers a look at the Griselda universe from a woman’s perspective for the first time, spitting rhymes over grimy boom-bap beats the label’s best known for.
“I’m dropping THE LIZ for the culture. For all the people that grew up loving hip hop for the art of it not just the beats. I’ve studied this and I’m so proud of this body of work,” the First Lady of Griselda said in a previous statement. “I want to dedicate this to Demetrius “DJ Shay” Robinson. The first person to ever take a chance on me musically. He believed in my talent long before anybody else knew my name. There would be no “Armani Caesar” if it hadn’t been for him. So I’m doin this one for Shay. I hope it makes him proud.”
