Giving new life to spent Detroit Jackets and Carpenter Pants.

Following its recent Selfridges pop-up, fledgling Canadian imprint bentgablenits has now prepared its latest offering of signature upcycled wares. Turning its attention to vintage workwear, bentgablenits’ upcoming collection is focused on the durable and comfortable wares of Carhartt.
Breathing new life into a range of spent Detroit Jackets and Carpenter Pants, choice adornments reinterprets the heavy-duty full-cut clothing constructed of stiff 12-ounce cotton canvas with triple-stitched seams. Looking to repurpose the forgotten treasures in hope of igniting a cycle that understands the environmental consequences tied to fashion with a contemporary outlook, bentgablenits hand-applied oya crochet flowers, velvet logos, cowboy graphic patches, sequins, velour, rhinestones.
To celebrate the natural distressing resulting from persistent wear patterns, matching velvet is applied to collars to complement the natural fading that can’t be manufactured. While large velvet takes on Carhartt’s signature emblem are found on each piece as a proud reflection of the brand’s growth and evolution. Aside from framing patches. rhinestones are haphazardly applied to pants to create a unique speckled effect.
