42 Dugg Calls in Marshmello for Grisly New Single "Baggin'"
A standout trap banger from the Detroit rapper.
42 Dugg has called in Marshmello for a grisly new single titled “Baggin.” This follows the Detroit rapper’s pensive track “Free Merey” from two weeks ago.
Produced by Marshmello and Ambezza, the song is steeped in a nocturnal trap beat that compliments Dugg’s laid-back flow. Measuring at a little under three and a half minutes, the instrumentals feature a ghoulish piano riff set against a syncopated drum pattern. Dugg pens lyrics about getting money, enlivened by braggadocious lines like “Faced some fire, and the feds ask me, am I Dugg / Ask God, not at all, four million with all the cash” and “I get nervous when I get mentioned / Bro do four a week in Cinci, could be five, but he too picky.” The song’s chorus is repeated both in the beginning and the end, where Marshmello’s intricately layered beat slowly fades out.
