Yves Tumor Shares Hypnotic New Lyric Video for "Strawberry Privilege"
Mirroring the track’s experimental sound with scratchy lo-fi imagery.
Yves Tumor has just released a hypnotic new lyric video for the track “Strawberry Privilege,” a cut from the artist’s latest album Heaven To A Tortured Mind, which dropped back in April.
Measuring just under the four-minute mark, the song is the 10th track off Heaven To A Tortured Mind, one of the longest songs in the entire LP before “Kerosene!” and “Medicine Burn.” Set amidst a soulful midtempo groove of funky basslines and muffled drumming, the singer’s high-pitch vocals have been lightly tweaked with echoing reverb. The instrumental arrangements, mixing rock and soul influences, intermingle for a distinctively minimal sound that’s been whittled down to a sinister glow. The song’s accompanying lyric video mirrors the sonic aesthetic of the track with bright vintage-style lo-fi visuals set against a black screen — directed by Jordan Hemingway and Collin Fletcher.
