The Seiko 5 Gets the Street Fighter Treatment
YOU WIN!
The latest addition to the Seiko 5 Sports release has been unveiled; a six piece Street Fighter collection, designed and inspired by some of the game’s central characters.
Originally introduced in 1968, the Seiko 5 Sports watch has undergone a variety of makeovers in its time; from a collaboration with Queen guitarist Brian May, to a more traditional sports-inspired rework more recently, it’s a silhouette that’s remained popular with watch-wearers since its birth.
Today though, Seiko seeks inspiration from Street Fighter V – the latest edition of the world-famous fighting game – basing six watches on six central characters from the series: Ryu, Ken, Chun-Li, Guile, Zangief and Blanka.
Each watch features Seiko’s automatic Caliber 4R36, with 24 jewels, optional manual-winding, a 41 hour power reserve and a hacking second hand. All are water resistant to 10 bars and have see-through case backs for extra durability.
This six piece Seiko 5 Sports collection will be available to purchase from September via the Seiko webstore and will be limited to 9,999 pieces of each watch.
