Ronnie Fieg and New Balance Present Elegant 1300CL Capsule
Continuing a long and rich relationship with refined takes on the RC_1300 and Made in the USA 1300.
KITH founder Ronnie Fieg and New Balance are continuing a long and rich relationship with an elegant new “1300CL” capsule. Made up of crisp takes on the modernized RC_1300 and classic made in the USA 1300, the offerings aim to bridge the gap between the past and present of one of New Balance’s signature models. Fieg has long been open in his admiration for New Balance’s CL — more commonly known as “Steel Blue” — color palette, and this two-pack of shoes continue his 2020 remixes of the timeless hues after May’s 992 and 998 “CL” collaborations.
First up is the RC_1300, which uses an original CL mix of ocean blue mesh bases and dark steel grey suede overlays. Unlike the OG 1300, the midfoot’s N takes on a cream tone and is bordered with blue. The bulky midsole boasts new-age ENCAP Reveal technology atop its Vibram rubber outsoles to ensure comfort and durability. Next to bat is is the made in the USA 1300, which serves up an inverted rendition of the “CL” colorway. Dark gray mesh bases contrast with supple gray pigskin suede overlays, while large reflective N logos and OG ENCAP midsoles adding further to the classic feel.
For all their differences, both shoes also supply a great deal of similarities. Each feature co-branded tongue tags and bone-colored heels split between debossed KITH (left shoe) and Fieg (right shoe) graphics. Insoles are custom-printed, and outsoles are dressed in a mauve tone — an evolution of Fieg’s first 1300 collaboration, which featured a salmon-colored outsole.
The Ronnie Fieg x New Balance 1300CL capsule will release at 11 A.M. ET on August 24 via the KITH webstore. As with past releases, the only in-store drops will occur at KITH Tokyo and KITH’s permanent shop-in-shops at Bergdorf Goodman, Hirshleifers, and Selfridges. The RC_1300 is priced at $150 USD and the 1300 arrives at $180 USD.
