Lauryn Hill Offers Stunning Live Performance for Louis Vuitton Men's SS21 Show
Featuring cuts from ‘The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill’ and her 2014 anthem “Black Rage.”
Ms. Lauryn Hill teamed up with Louis Vuitton to deliver an original recording for the Men’s Spring/Summer 2021 show in Shanghai, China.
Featuring musical direction by Benji B, the monochromatic visual was recorded in late July at the MLH Studio in New Jersey and hears the legendary musician perform both classic and newer cuts such as “Guarding the Gates” from the Queen & Slim soundtrack, her 2014 anthem “Black Rage” and The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill numbers “Lost Ones,” “Ex-Factor,” “Everything is Everything” and “Doo Wop.”
“Ms. Lauryn Hill is, to me, forever a muse,” Virgil Abloh wrote in the video’s accompanying caption.
Louis Vuitton’s SS21 collection is a nod to Sun Ra and celebrates his past ideas, and mostly utilizes upcycled materials from overstock textiles, previous seasons’ clothing and refurbished ideas.
