From Nike Sportswear to Nike Running, sustainability has been front and center for the Swoosh this summer, and the latest piece of that action is the Dunk Low “Community Garden.” Featuring a patchwork-esque blend of textile tones and textures — all with colors and patterns you might find at your grandma’s house — the “Community Garden” serves up environmentally conscious materials and bold style in equal measures.
Various patterns, polka dots, stars and flowers are spread across the upper’s recycled canvas expanses. Base tones are split between various shades of turquoise and burgundy, with the aforementioned accents taking on red, yellow and blue hues. Laces, heel tabs and Swooshes alike are presented in a light, breezy yellow, while midsoles offer a soft lemon tint and outsoles add speckled detailing to their yellow build as well.
Although the colors are vastly different, this bricolage build brings to mind images of Travis Scott’s recent Nike SB Dunk collaboration with its diverse assemblage of tones and patterns.
An official release date for the Nike Dunk Low “Community Garden” has yet to be announced, but expect it on the Nike webstore and at select retailers this fall.
